About Cheryl
On rare occasions a child is born with the ‘caul’ covering its head. This is the name given to the membrane that encloses the foetus to protect it prior to birth. In some indigenous communities this is considered to be a good omen and a sign that the child born this way will be their next Shaman or Healer. (excerpt from “A Shaman's Love” C. Maddock.)

I was born with the ‘Caul’ completely over me but I didn’t find this out until well into my forties. I feel that this event has, unknowingly, opened pathways for me into the Shamanic Worlds.

Coming from a Westernised country I found it very difficult to discover where I belonged and I longed for peace, harmony and above all answers in my life. As a child I struggled with this and had strange feelings about “other worlds” but who to talk to?...

It all fell into place when one very special day a friend beat a shamanic drum and I spontaneously journeyed out of my body into the spirit world where I found Peace, Harmony and above all, Answers that I had been searching for.

Studies and professional involvement
I have spent over ten years working with the aboriginal community in Australia, have shared information and spiritual gifts with Shamanic healers in Lombok, Bali, New Zealand, England, Ireland and the Desert Women of Central Australia.

I worked for many years in established professions including specialised community and mental health work and because of my love for people on a soul level, I began to explore alternatives. I studied and practised massage, aromatherapy reflexology and Art therapy. These therapies complement my existing spirituality and after studying and working with Shamans throughout the world I continue living and working as a Shaman with a humbling depth of wisdom.

At present I am studying “Initiatic Art Therapy” and having a great time learning about this exciting and creative healing modality. I combine Shamanism and Art therapy, a powerful and expressive combination for those who wish to work in this way for their own clarity and wholeness.

I have appeared on National television demonstrating Soul Retrieval and also on numerous radio programs including Radio National to discuss my life and different aspects of being a Shaman.

Way of life
Shamanism is my way of life and, together with my partner Mike, we feel very fortunate to live in such a lovely part of the world. Our home is a small cottage on the water’s edge overlooking a beautiful bay in Southern Tasmania. It is a very peaceful setting with wonderful views.

We work from home, Mike making Kindred Shamanic Drums and me working with people. We are very passionate, both with our beliefs and with the work that we do.

I am sure Mother Earth supports us on our chosen path and feel very fortunate to be supported in this way.
